They’re caused by a number of things, but mostly sun damage.
Here are my top 5 tips for dealing with age spots
1. Consume foods high in antioxidants that protect the skin from sun damage
2. Add the herbs and spices turmeric, rosemary, ginger and cilantro. They are high in antioxidants and nutrients that protect the skin from sun damage
3. Exfoliate at least twice a week to remove top layer of skin and force cell renewal.
4. Always use sunscreen to protect against continued damage
5. Manage stress. Stress reduces blood flow to the skin thereby reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrients to the skin, leaving skin undernourished.
