Wrinkles, UGH!!!
I had them, still do, but I had a lot more when I was younger (true story!) and they SUCKED! They made me look old and made me feel ugly and judged.
I know what it’s like to have people tell you that you look older than you actually are and let me tell you – ageism is a thing!
Here’s what I did to reduce the appearance of wrinkles:
1. Exfoliate once or twice a week. Exfoliating is the first thing I did that made me see results. Use a gentle exfoliant, not a product with nut or seed shells or sugar or salt, these are fine for your body, but way too harsh for your face.
2. Oil cleanse. I was using very expensive water-based cleansers (I live near Macy’s, the people that worked the cosmetic counters knew me by name), they were giving me that “squeaky clean” feeling, this is actually damaging to the skin.
3. I started using products with anti-aging ingredients. The ingredients that supported my skin when my skin was young and vibrant didn’t support my skin as I aged. If they did, I wouldn’t have had all those wrinkles!
4. I gave myself weekly at-home facials to nourish my aging skin, yup, the full shebang, steaming, exfoliating, a nourishing mask, just like in a spa. I used food-based masks to nourish my skin. A few of my favorite ingredients are avocado, honey and yogurt and I always add a probiotic to support skin health
You got this! Now go beat those wrinkles at this aging game!
