GREENWASHING

You may not have heard the term greenwashing, but you’ve probably been duped into believing it without knowing it.

You may not have heard the term greenwashing, but you’ve probably been duped into believing it without knowing it.

Greenwashing is when a company markets themselves as using clean ingredients, making you believe their products are better for you and the environment and they aren’t.

It’s an advertising gimmick that gives us, as consumers, a false impression or misleading information about the integrity of a company.

They greenwash to make you believe they care about you and the environment.

And they don’t.

Unfortunately, there are many skincare companies that do this and get away with it because ingredient labels are difficult to understand and an ingredient that sounds harmless may not be.

Some of these ingredients are known carcinogens, they cause cancer and disrupt our hormones and not only are they bad for us, they’re also bad for the environment.

That’s why it’s so important to educate yourself about ingredients and make an educated choice as to what you want to put on your body.

We’re going to be doing a series of posts about all the different ingredients, the good, the bad and the ugly, every Wednesday here in the group to help you make educated decisions.

It’s your body after all, you should have all the information to decide what you put on it.
